Hiatal Hernia

A Hiatal hernia occurs when the top of stomach is forced upwards, through the through the diaphragm. Common causes are chronic stress, food allergies/sensitivities/intolerance and gut infections.Symptoms include acid reflux, being gassy or bloated and feeling too full after eating. The esophagus may also get involved because it is connected to the stomach.

Most treatment for this problem begins with antacids and other “stomach soothers.”While this may bring immediate relief, it can lead to even more problems. Surgery is considered pretty much as a last resort, and may last for only a limited period of time.
